Shamba Network and Green Academy have signed a partnership agreement to advance regenerative finance (ReFi) through collaborative activities. Green Academy is an educational platform for all things ReFi. The non-profit platform aims to accelerate decentralized decarbonization by spreading ReFi awareness. Green Academy was launched by Sweetgum Labs which was established in 2022 with a single mission to inspire everyone to fight climate change.
Green Academy provides support and opportunities for ReFi projects from sharing project roadmap, token economy, marketing collaborations and other activities. In order to expand ReFi to become a global movement, it is vital to create awareness through collaboration and partnership. Sweetgum’s Business Development and Marketing Lead, Ricky Wang stated “We’re excited to be collaborating with Shamba. We share a very similar vision with Shamba to encourage individuals to realize and contribute their effort in fighting climate change and achieving carbon neutrality.”
ReFi Kenya NFTs
The first initiative under this partnership, Green Academy will be supporting the creation of ten non-fungible tokens (NFTs) dedicated to the recent ReFi Kenya event, hosted in Kenya by Shamba on 7 October 2022. This marks the first collaboration under this partnership and among many to come.
As a result of the success of the first #ReFiKenya, the event will now become an annual big event sometime in Q3 or Q4 in 2023. In the meantime, there is going to be an emphasis on local events throughout Kenya. This will improve accessibility and boost inclusion by hosting small community-led ReFi Kenya events throughout the country. Future collaborations between our projects may include sharing data, exchanging resources, hosting joint events and more. “We appreciate the efforts Shamba has made and would love to collaborate in multiple ways. A cool start would be onboarding Shamba to Green Academy, helping more people to understand what they are doing!” Wang added.
